Meditation is simply about quieting the mind, so you can be in the moment. There are many processes designed to help get an individual into this state, but the end goal is the same for all methods, Total Momentary Awareness.
The process of meditation is personal and unique as each individual. The result have very common outcomes. And people can approach meditation with different goals. The same methods can produce momentary awareness, stress reduction, increased compassion, decreased depression, new insights, and many other benefits.
As you learn more about meditation you will learn that there are almost as many techniques to meditation as there are people teaching meditation. There are many reasons for this, but primarily, meditation becomes personal and unique to each of us. The implication of this is that you need to try many techniques and learn which meditation techniques work for you and move on from techniques that don’t work. This will be your own personal quest, find your tool and then practice it.
